“Is he really busy?” Lu Weixi thought. Indeed, Qin Zhiyou used to work until 11 or 12 at night and it might be midnight by the time he got home. She herself sometimes worked really hard, but now for the sake of the baby, she had to rest early.

Lu Weixi thought for a moment, drew the curtains, unlocked the window, but it still looked tightly closed from the outside. When she was getting ready for bed, she remembered what he had said about not wanting to sleep on the floor. She had tidied up the bed sheet he used last night, placed the blanket he used by the bed, and gotten him a new pillow.

Returning home full of anticipation, there was still no sign of Qin Zhiyou. Lu Weixi silently turned to a page in the pregnancy guide, which read, “Pregnant women should maintain emotional stability,” then silently kicked his pillow off the bed.
