Alexander Summers was genuinely worried that Purple Summers might starve, so he got up from her and didn’t tease her anymore.

The meals were all prepared in advance by Caitlin Carter, consisting entirely of auspicious dishes. The milk soup fish balls were called “Fish & Water Dependence,” the walnut date soup was called “May You Have Children Soon,” the crispy fried quail symbolized “Wings Together, Fly in Pair,” and the sweet dessert cake and the like were all ready.

However, the two of them were entangled for too long, and the food had long gone cold.

Alexander went to the kitchen to reheat the dishes, while Purple changed into a cool homewear pajama set and idly strolled around the house.

The villa had three stories – not big compared to the Summers Residence, but it boasted a clever and comfortable design.

The first floor had a spacious living room connected to a leisure area and dining space, then two bedrooms, a kitchen, a bathroom, and a storage room.

The second floor housed a master bedroom, three guest rooms, a study, a bathroom, and a small terrace for viewing.

The third floor was empty, just a sharp-peaked attic. Purple could barely stand up straight there. She thought if it was Alexander, he would probably have to walk bent over.

The attic had a triangular window that was charmingly childlike.

Purple couldn’t help but think, in the future, when they had children, they would surely love this place. Little feet scampering across the teak floor, making a “dadada, dadada” sound, and Alexander, impatiently furrowing his brows, would shout from downstairs, “Quieter!”

Would he be that gentle?

Purple found herself laughing at this thought, oddly looking forward to seeing what kind of scene it would be when Alexander disciplined their children.

Alexander was pretty fierce.

But towards those he was close to, his fierceness was often noise without substance; he could scold her harshly, ending up holding her in his arms to comfort her. People who didn’t know him well might think he had a split personality.

Alexander called her from downstairs to eat, and Purple replied, going down to see the table already laden with food.

“I’ll serve the rice!” Purple proactively volunteered to help with the household chores.

She served two bowls of rice, giving Alexander a larger portion, and, like a diligent wife, placed it before him, saying, “Husband, you’ve worked hard.”

Alexander glanced at the piled rice in his bowl and looked at Purple, his eyes holding an unnameable hint of amusement, “The ‘hard work’ you’re talking about, is it the same ‘hard work’ I’m thinking of?”

Now more attuned to innuendo, Purple blinked, lowered her head to eat her rice, “Hard work is hard work, what else could it mean…”

Alexander laughed, served her some dishes, and said, “Wife, you’ve worked hard too, eat more.”

Purple felt his words seemed like a tease, a gentle jab.

But she was truly hungry. During the ceremony, there was no time to eat, and at the reception, she had to keep toasting. Finally, when it ended and they got home, Alexander took her to bed and tossed and turned with her for so long.

Purple ate a full bowl of rice, had quite a few chicken and shrimp balls and lamb chops, and finally had a bowl of sweet soup, until she was stuffed.

She had wanted to do her wifely duties a bit more, like helping to wash the dishes and wipe the table.

But now she was so full she just wanted to lie down.

“The servants will wash them tomorrow,” Alexander said.

With that, Purple grew dependent and became even more disinclined to move.

With a full stomach and nothing to do, she was wide awake since she had just slept not long ago.

On this first day of their marriage, she was still engulfed in the novelty of being a married woman. Although they normally were cozy with each other, having an official social status was remarkably different.

As for how it was different… Purple couldn’t quite put her finger on it, she just felt overjoyed, incredibly joyful.

Alexander carried her to the second-floor terrace to cool off.

The terrace was covered in teak floor, clean and spacious, with only a few straw mats placed around.

Alexander sat on the mat while Purple leaned against him, the cool, silky evening breeze brushing against their skin, comfortable.
