Her clinginess brought a warm and cozy heat to Alexander’s heart, his chest felt as though it was filled with something, satisfying his whole heart.

He hesitated whether to put aside his work, but Purple released him, saying, “Go ahead, serious business matters. I’ll come to see you during Christmas.”

Alexander turned around, his eyes brimming with laughter as he gently touched her face, “Purple, do you love me so much now that you can’t help it?”

“Stop it!” Purple’s ears turned red with heat as she pushed him away, blushing, “Just go.”

“Are you embarrassed?” Alexander teased, nibbling her ear, “…But I love you, so much that I can’t help it.”

Purple bit her lip as his sweet words sent a shock of electricity through her, a tingling sensation that rushed from the soles of her feet straight to her heart.

She wanted to scold him for being shameless, but the words tumbled on the tip of her tongue and ultimately, she swallowed them back.

“Mhm.” Purple responded modestly, the corners of her mouth sweetly curled upward.

Alexander teased her, “What does ‘mhm’ mean?”

“Mhm means mhm, what else could it mean?” Purple pushed him into the car, “Hurry up, don’t be late.”

Alexander pulled her into a fierce kiss before finally getting into the car and leaving the lakeside villa.

Once he had left, Purple went back inside.

Despite only one person being gone, it felt as though the house had instantly become empty.

Maybe this wasn’t home.

The place with Alexander was her home.

Purple wrapped herself in a shawl, starting to look forward to Christmas.

Two days before Christmas, Purple made a trip to the Presidential Palace, bringing some gifts as a courtesy.

For Christopher Simonson, there was a tie; for Caitlin Carter, a sapphire brooch; for Old Master Simonson, some tea leaves; and for the old lady, a horn comb.

They weren’t extremely expensive, but she had put thought into them, and the family was very pleased.

The old lady also showed a rare smile.
