Norton managed a wry smile and said, “Actually, it doesn’t matter… I’m the kind of person who wouldn’t have any girls willing to dance with me at the Christmas dance; I might as well be Santa Claus, at least everyone likes Santa Claus.”

“You need to have more confidence,” Purple Summers comforted him. “You haven’t even gone yet; how do you know no girls will want to dance with you?”

Norton shook his head self-deprecatingly: “Even I wouldn’t ask to dance with girls who are short, fat, and ugly, and the girls feel the same way, only wanting to find tall, handsome dance partners.”

After being scolded, Norton’s glasses were steaming up, as if he were about to cry.

Purple Summers couldn’t stand to watch; she felt that Victoria Morrison was taking out the anger she had towards herself on Norton!

After class, Purple Summers went to argue with Mrs. Morrison.

“Mrs. Morrison, don’t you think there’s something inappropriate with your teaching method?” Purple Summers said, “The things you said are too hurtful!”

Mrs. Morrison’s expression was cold, “Did I say something wrong? The institute is here to cultivate legal talent for the country, not a nursing home! If you want to slack off, leave early!”

“Norton has not been slacking off! He has always worked very hard!” Purple Summers defended.

“Has he worked hard? At least from the homework he hands in regularly, I don’t see any effort.” Mrs. Morrison curled her lip with a disdainful smile. “All I see is him busy currying favor with the social elite, trying to please everyone. Well, it seems pleasing has some use after all, look, now someone is taking up his cause, aren’t they?”
